A free resume builder that respects your privacy
CVTez is a resume and CV builder that runs entirely in your browser. There is no account to create and no email to hand over. Fill in the form on the left, watch the live preview update on the right, then download a clean PDF with selectable text. Your draft is saved automatically on this device, so you can close the tab and come back later.
How to build your resume
- Start from the sample or click Start blank, then fill in your contact details.
- Edit each section. Use the arrows to reorder sections and items, the cross to remove them, and the buttons at the bottom to add projects, certifications, languages, awards or volunteering.
- Choose a template, accent colour, font and paper size in the Design panel.
- Click Download PDF and pick "Save as PDF". Advertisements and page chrome are never included in the file.
- Use Export JSON to keep a backup you can import later or on another device.
Resume or CV?
In the US and Canada a resume is a short, tailored summary of your experience, while a CV usually means a longer academic record. In the UK, India and much of the world, "CV" is the everyday word for what Americans call a resume. CVTez works for both: keep it to one or two pages for most jobs, or add sections for a longer academic CV.
FAQ
Is CVTez really free?
Yes. Every template, the PDF download and the cover letter builder are free with no sign-up and no watermark.
Where is my resume stored?
Only in your browser's local storage on this device. Nothing you type is uploaded to a server. Use Export JSON to keep a backup or move it to another device.
How do I download my resume as a PDF?
Click Download PDF and choose "Save as PDF" as the destination in the print dialog. Turn off "Headers and footers" for a clean page. The PDF contains real, selectable text.
Are the templates ATS-friendly?
All templates use a single column, standard section headings and real text, which applicant tracking systems parse most reliably.
Should I pick US Letter or A4?
Use US Letter for the United States and Canada, and A4 for the UK, India, Europe and most other countries.
